In this article, we will describe how you can protect personal confidential information on the Internet. To maintain confidentiality when visiting web pages, it is best to use a VPN.

Find yourself on the World Wide Web

Have you tried to find your identity on the Internet? If you are interested in protecting your personal data, you should see what the search results show about you. If you see the information that you don’t want to see in the public domain, we will show you how to hide it.

Open the search engines and enter your name in the search query and maybe you will see different results. The easiest way to enter your name is surrounded by a specific place or phrase. For example, you need to look for yourself as “John Connor Los Angeles”.

In order not to lose the source data in the search, open all the links you are interested in by clicking on the right mouse button and select “Open in a new tab”. Using this simple tip, you will stay organized, save your time and be productive in your search.

Remove yourself from all free searches

If you found your personal information on the site, for example, Family Tree Now, Spokeo, Whitepages and others, and want to delete it, then find the link called “opt out”. Most often, it is located at the bottom of the website page.

If you did not find the link, then use the search engine by entering the Opt-Out request and the name of the website on which your data is located. If you have several Internet resources, then repeat the process for each of them. Removing information on average takes from 24 to 48 hours. It remains only to wait for the result.

Optimize your privacy settings on social networks

It is possible that one of the links that you found will lead to a page on social networks. For example, if it is Facebook, then go to the settings of your account in the “Privacy Settings” section and change the parliaments of the availability of your information for search.

Similarly, you can change the privacy parliaments of any popular social networks.

Become Confidential With Facebook

Many people prefer to use a pseudonym instead of their real name on social networks. Someone writes the name or surname of a favorite character, others come up with a random name or write their own in the reverse order. You can often see that users use the name of the work instead of their last name, for example, Frank Jeweler.

Such methods work only for people who do not know your real name and surname. Your friends or colleagues in the comments may write, “I really appreciate the work of my colleague Frank Smith, for helping to choose a necklace as a gift for my wife.”

Alternatively, you can be marked on the photo in the company of friends where your real name is indicated. Anyone reading this comment or seeing the photo will be able to find out your real name and surname. In addition, if the page of the person who published the photo is in the public domain, then it can be found using search engines.

Do not write your real public phone number

In addition to everything, you can use the free Google Voice application that can be installed on your phone. Together with the application, you get a new phone number that you can set on your page on social networks.

When someone calls this number, your mobile phone will ring. You can also make calls through Google Voice. The recipient will see your Google Voice number, not your real phone number.

The application has a number of other useful functions, for example, call forwarding or previously “pick up the phone” invisibly to the caller. This is a great tool for those who frequently change numbers or want to protect a real phone number.
