We have hundreds of conversations on WhatsApp every day. It is a waste of time to scroll through all of these messages in quest of a single archived message, file, or attachment. However, this was the way WhatsApp search operated up until this point. You can now search WhatsApp chat messages by date thanks to a new feature offered by Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company. You may quickly filter out previous communications if you are aware of the date (or have a general sense of the date) that the message was sent. Below are the steps for discovering WhatsApp messages by date.
Search for Chat Messages on WhatsApp by Date
The steps are simple to follow. But keep in mind that at the moment, only the WhatsApp iOS app offers message searching by date. The process should not change when the capability is accessible to iPadOS and Android users.
- On your iPhone, launch WhatsApp
- Select the conversation you wish to look for an old message using a date-based search. Tap the name of the person or profile at the top
- At the top should now be a new Search button. In the screenshot below, the first account is for a business, and the second is for a personal account. You can choose from various filter options in the latter, such as Audio, Video, and Pay
- The screen for the discussion will reappear. To view a date scroll wheel, tap the date icon in the lower right corner of the screen. Then, choose a date, month, and year using the wheel. Finally, click the Jump to Date button at the bottom
Use WhatsApp’s date filter to take private notes
Recently, we described how to use WhatsApp to send messages to oneself. So let’s look at a clever trick. Sending messages to oneself is an excellent method to make brief notes and capture ideas as they come to you.
To find these messages or notes later, utilize WhatsApp’s brand-new Search by Date feature. Your WhatsApp or personal conversation will turn into an online diary.
What started as messaging software has developed into much more. Sharing PDF files, music, films, and photographs is simple with chat. Additionally, some nations use WhatsApp for cash sending and receiving. Anything received using WhatsApp, including PDF files and other documents, can now be signed. There is no way to open the chat window from the messages, even if the Media, Links, and Docs option lets you view all sent and received media files and papers.
You can quickly locate the file within WhatsApp chat if you remember when it was shared. Alternatively, you can search for related topics by selecting the date from the Media, Links, and Docs menu.
Users can quickly filter messages, payments, and files in their chats and locate what they’re seeking, thanks to WhatsApp’s search-by-date tool.
