How to Clear the Internet Cache in Every Major Browser

Some users that do not consider themselves tech-savvy may not know why regular (and even irregular) efforts to erase the Cache are quite important. Cache represented data stored by the browser locally in order to either positively affect the performance of loading frequently visited pages or to preserve information useful to the user. For example, your browser may store the history of your online adventures or so-called cookies to make working with websites a little bit more convenient.

The storage may become too big for your PC to handle and negatively impact the performance. Sometimes, the desire to avoid unnecessary attention to your browsing habits could be also important.

In the vast majority of modern browsers, erasing the cache is done by simply pressing CTRL+SHIFT+DEL in Windows or COMMAND+SHIFT+DEL in MAC.

Here are some practical reasons to do it:

·   You receive too many 404 or 502 errors when opening new pages on the world wide web

·   The tabs show outdated information from places you frequently visit

·   You suspect that your PC was infected with some form of malicious software

·   The PC overall is working noticeably slower which may indicate that you have problems with an overcrowded hard drive

Managing the Cache in Chrome

Using CTRL+SHIFT+DEL in Windows or COMMAND+SHIFT+DEL in MAC takes you to a new window in which you can choose the period and remove the trace data related to it. Another way to do it is following these steps:

01.   Expand the menu in Chrome (three vertical dots)

02.   Scroll towards “Settings”

03.   The button “Advanced” is next

04.   Locate the block “Privacy and Security”

05.   Click “Clear Browsing Data”

06.   Don’t forget to check the “Cached images and files” box

In the mobile version of the browser:

01.   Launch the browser

02.   Expand the settings in the app menu

03.   Next, search for the string captioned “Privacy”

06.   Confirm the choice in the pop-up window

Internet Explorer: trusty and rusty

One of the oldest internet browsers is still used by many people despite its flaws and heavy criticism. If you still love IE, the below steps will assist you in erasing the rusty memory of IE:

01.   Search for an icon of a gear corresponding to the “Tools” menu

02.   The Safety option contains the delete browsing history feature

Erasing Firefox’s good memory of you

While Chrome is the holder of the crown for most popular browsers today, Mozilla’s Firefox is also a very good browser loved by millions across the globe. The “combo” of buttons is the same. You feel special? Here are the “inconvenience-inducing” steps:

01.   Launch the browser

02.   Expand the “Options” section

02.   Open “Safari”
