1. Keyboard floating

Did you know you could float your keyboard anywhere on the screen? You can also change the keyboard’s color and size.

To make this work, you must have the Google Gboard Keyboard App installed and set as your primary typing method.

Here’s how you do it:

  • Install the Google Gboard Keyboard App and set it as your default input method in the settings.
  • You can launch any program you want, such as SMS or Whatsapp.
  • Respond to an existing chat or create a new one.
  • The Gboard keyboard will be displayed. 
  • Insert the cursor into the Typing Box – Locate the three dots in the upper right corner of the keyboard. Select “Floating” by pressing the three dots.
  • You can now easily float the keyboard anywhere on the screen to suit your needs.

2. Protect your apps

You don’t want your buddies making fun of you because of a few funny images in your recent album! That is a clear no-no. So, how do you prevent inquisitive buddies from gaining access to your other apps?

Here’s how you do it:

  • Make a selection of options. Find out about security and location.
  • Select Screen Pinning from the menu.
  • You will be shown how to pin images on your computer screen. Activate the feature.
  • The Overview button must be pressed as recommended. The Pin -the icon will then display in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click the app you wish to save once you’ve found it.
  • Press the Back and Overview buttons at the same time for a few seconds to unpin or input your PIN/passcode. Your data can now be transferred to other apps.

This function has existed since Android 7.0 Nougat, however, it is one of the few that customers are unaware of. When you want to display images, optimize your social networking, or multitask, this side-by-side or top-and-bottom app view (depending on your screen orientation) is beneficial.

Here’s how you do it:

  • A brief swipe up from the bottom of your screen will bring you to the app carousel.
  • Tap the circle icon at the top of the app preview to return to the most recently used app.
  • On the emerging menu, you should see a Split top option.
  • If you see it, tap the Split top to automatically move the app to the top or left of your screen.
  • You’ll notice an app carousel on the opposite side, from which you can launch a second app. Simply swipe to it and tap on the preview to open it this time.
